Since 2024, Wasted Potential Comedy has been bringing more stage time to the comedians of the up-and-coming Santa Barbara comedy scene. We believe every comedian deserves the room to hone and perfect their craft — so we balance our shows with brand-new comics alongside seasoned professionals.
Ashley, Lauren, and Riley met during the pandemic, bonded over comedy, and started a production company to make the stages they needed. A year in, it is a regular pilgrimage for Santa Barbara County comics and the audiences chasing them.
Between the three of them they cover a classroom, a kitchen, a recording booth, and a stage — and somehow still keep the lights on. It is, by any reasonable definition, a lot.

Co-Founder · Vermont → Santa Barbara
Vermont native who moved to California eleven years ago. A full-time teacher with a background in literature and writing, she writes murder mysteries in her free time and has been doing stand-up for the last three years.
